Was Paul Ostrow supportive of Cub Foods going into the US Bank location also? Is this true?
CM Ostrow has a history of supporting auto-intensive businesses: Arby's, Cub, and Sam's Club. Neighbors Against Porky's has been told there are others. Sam's Club is the most bizarre. Does CM Ostrow want to completely destroy every small business in Northeast?
I was at the meeting at the high rise last week. After the meeting was over, I heard several of the residents complaining that the neighborhoods were against the Cub Foods they wanted to put on Central. I heard a lot of comments that centered around the idea that there "wasn't anything nearby" for them. I talked to a few ladies that complained that the Co-op "didn't have bread or milk." I left frustrated. I wanted to tell them that if they wanted to live next door to or behind a grocery store or a chain restaurant, they might find more satisfying housing out in the burbs.During the meeting, many also expressed anger that the Windom Park neighborhood meets at a school site rather than in the high rise's first floor common area.We need to keep in mind that the high rise is not the only senior housing in Windom Park. It would be inherently unfair to move the meetings there. It should also be noted that Windom Park used to offer a shuttle to the neighborhood meetings a few years back, but it was discontinued due to lack of use. These seniors are being manipulated and used by CM Ostrow to discredit all the work the neighborhood groups have been doing over the past year. And it's not the first time it's happened! Enough, already!
